Valley Expands to Paramus
I was really excited to hear this recent news. In our town, the Valley Hospital expansion has been a heated, controversial lengthy issue. I fully support modernization of hospitals, and love having a state of the art medical center nearby. At the same time, I was sympathetic to my neighbors who feared expansion would negatively affect Ridgewood, the value of their homes, and the safety of their children. An expansion into an unused area in Paramus seems to me the best of all worlds. It is a win for Valley as the location is desirable, a win for Ridgewood residents who lobbied against it, and a win for everyone in the surrounding areas — great, local healthcare is not always easy to find. Now, it will be just a mile or so away. My family receives almost all our healthcare through Valley Physicians and Programs, and the convenience, in addition to the excellent care we receive, is wonderful. I don’t yet know all the details, but I think there is reason to be pleased.
