The Nature Center Says “Farewell.” Rest in Peace, Speedy.

He was a Nature Center celebrity and a regular at birthday parties. “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved box turtle Speedy,” the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes posted yesterday. Kids looked forward to visits from Speedy the Turtle when they came to the Nature Center’s beloved summer camps, and educational events. Visitors to the Nature Center looked forward to his welcome when they entered the visitor center. Speedy enriched the lives of both the children and adults who met him. Rest In peace, Speedy.

" After living in Brooklyn for 18 years and studying Graphic Design at Pratt Institute, she now lives in the Jersey burbs. "I love living so close to NYC, but in my heart, I'm an Ohio girl."
