One of my favorite places to go in the fall is Storm King. I love seeing the wonderful collection of sculptures against the backdrop of the changing autumn leaves. Located in the lower Hudson Valley, the park sits on pristine 500-acre of pristinely landscaped fields, hills, and woodlands and provides a setting for a collection of more than 100 sculptures created by some of the most acclaimed artists of our time.

What could be better than enjoying this beauty on an exclusive tour with Curator Mary Birmingham and Executive Director Melanie Cohn. On Thursday, October 20, 8:30am – 5:00pm Visual Arts Center Staff of NJ is offering a full excursion to the Hudson Valley including tours of Dia:Beacon, Riggio Galleries and Storm King Art Center. Enjoy a lunch as you chat and share ideas on these fabulous artists. Tickets: $150 Non-Members; $ 125 Members. To purchase tickets visit www.artcenternj.org.

Former Art Director for Home Magazine, Heather Leahy Zachariah, left her career in publishing after baby number number one. She now works from home as a freelance graphic designer and a chauffeur to her 3 busy kids. "Working on TipsFromTown has been a wonderful outlet for me. It renewed my love of publishing where I can design colorful, enticing pages online and allows me to share the things I love about being a mom." Heather grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a place that still is near and dear to her. " After living in Brooklyn for 18 years and studying Graphic Design at Pratt Institute, she now lives in the Jersey burbs. "I love living so close to NYC, but in my heart, I'm an Ohio girl."
