Sliced Apples as a Bread Substitute

Not sure what to do with the gigantic apples your kids are drawn to at the orchard? Since I went gluten free a couple years ago, the thing I miss most is a sandwich.

This past summer, I started using apple slices as my “bread.” You get a great crunch, lots of flavor and you cut the calories in half. This makes a great pre-practice, after school snack too.

My favorite is honey mustard, cheddar and turkey (shown here with chicken because I’m out of turkey) but ham and brie is amazing too. Forego the meat and just stick with the cheese.
