Kite Surfing

These days you see more and more kite surfers gliding around the beaches and bays of NY and NJ. Kitesurfing is a mixture of paragliding, wakeboarding, surfing and windsurfing. Essentially, you’re buckled into a harness that is attached to a parachute-like sail and your feet are strapped to a surfboard. I’m told you need pretty good upper body strength to pull yourself up and control the kite, while negotiating where you are going with your feet.
