NATIONAL: 88 Year Old WWII Vet Beaten to Death in Washington

Delbert Belton, affectionally “Shorty” to his friends, was beaten and left for dead in what appears to be a random act of violence, in Spokane, WA. Belton, who fought and was wounded in the battle of Okinawa, died of massive head injuries outside a lounge he frequented to play pool.  CNN has the story.
