Madison honors local veterans
American Legion Post 43 honors local veterans
With all of the excitement of the 2016 election, let us not lose sight of an important U.S. public holiday this Friday, November 11. It’s so important to pay tribute to our military veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Locally, the American Legion Post 43 of Madison and Florham Park continues a Veterans Day tradition that honors the service and sacrifice of American veterans.
As in previous years the ceremony takes place at the World War I Eagle Monument in James Park, Madison. The public is invited to arrive at 10:45 as the ceremony, marked by the sound of Madison church bells, begins at 11:00AM sharp.
The ceremony will honor veterans past and present, those who served and sacrificed for our liberty and freedom. At the brief ceremony, local veterans will be on hand to share thoughts, wreaths will be placed, and a rifle salute by the Post Color Guard will take place.
