Let the Hayrides Begin!
Now that we are all back into the swing of things and the weather seems to be a little cooler, I don’t know about you, but I am starting to get excited for Fall. I always try and make sure we can squeeze in a day trip to go apple picking, pick out a pumpkin and take a hayride. Sadly, though with all my kids sports schedules, and other commitments it is hard to find the time.
One thing we do every year, right here in Westfield is a trip to William’s Nursery on Springfield Avenue. They offer a really fun slightly-spooky hayride which is appropriate for kids of all ages. The quick ride drops you off in their pumpkin patch where you can grab a few pumpkins, or try out their hay maze. They offer wagons to put in your selections, or even cart your kids back to the entrance to pick up some mums or other fall decorations.
The best part, it is only a few minutes away from home, so if you only have an hour or two to spare it is perfect way to fit a little fall fun into to your busy days.
Opening weekend is this September 24-25, and to celebrate the start of the season hayrides will be half price all weekend long, 10 am – 5 pm, weather permitting. Hayrides for the weekend will be $2.50. The following weekends through October, hayrides are $5/person or 3 or more $4/person. Pony rides are $4 each. The hay maze is free.
