Karma Organic Spa
Opening in 2007, Karma Organic Spa introduced a new concept to Ridgewood salon-goers as it was one of the first organic spas in the area. The nail technicians here use toluene, formaldehyde and phyhalate-free nail polishes and soy-based, non-toxic organic nail polish removers. These unique products are also shipped all over the country to customers interested in environmentally-friendly and safer alternatives for their nails.
Feeling more like a hip spot found in trendy Brooklyn than your typical Jersey nail salon, the shop is cozy, quaint and smells great, too. Hints of lavender and mint surround you instead the usual chemical odors you might find elsewhere. The owner, Nas Zaheer, designed the spa to be constructed using natural, non-toxic, and up-cycled materials.
The salon offers an assortment of manicures and pedicures for men and women, as well as a complete array of other spa services including facials, massages and waxing. My favorite treatment is the Rosemary Mint Pedicure.
Karma is generously offering a 10% discount on nail and spa services, and product purchases to Tips readers who mention this post.
