HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley is hosting Healthy Giving Day on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 12noon to 4:00pm at Paramus Park Mall in Paramus, NJ in the upper level food court. Through this event, the Hospital hopes to raise awareness about preventive health and staying on track during the holiday season as well as generate funds for charity partner, Table to Table. Table to Table is a community based food rescue program that serves millions of hungry residents in Northern New Jersey.

Healthy Giving Day will encourage the community to focus on their health, wellness and the importance of feeling good. Attendees will not only have the chance to have their blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol levels screened, but they can take a beauty break and be pampered with a funky nail art application from Jamberry Nails or allow Lily’s Blow Dry and Makeup Lounge to style a chic braid. Guests will be able to get energized in a Zumba demonstration and have the chance to strike a pose (and maybe even a selfie!) with social media and yoga powerhouses, Laura Kasperzak and Masumi Goldman of Two Fit Moms.

Hackensack University Medical Group Pascack Valley physicians will be on hand to discuss issues related to women’s health and primary care. In addition, ShopRite Inserra Supermarkets will be giving away a $500 Thanksgiving Dinner gift certificate to one lucky attendee.

“Healthy Giving Day is all about community, health and wellness,” commented Emily Holliman, CEO of HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley. “We are thrilled to be able to offer preventive care and wellness services to the Bergen County community, and are also excited to be supporting Table to Table — for every person that signs up for a screening at the event, the Hospital will donate $1 to the organization.”
