Expand Your Musical Palate

country music

Are you one of those people who say, “I hate country music.” If so, you are missing out. Country ain’t what it used to be. Yes, there are still lots of trailers and broken down pick ups and cans of beer, but it is so much more than that. When my kids say they hate reading, after I hit them over the head with a book, I say, “That’s like saying you don’t like food. There are so many types of books, you just have to find the one you like.” The same is true of country music. The artists whose work falls under the genre of Country are more varied than you can imagine. So, break out your boots, pop open a cold one and give country music a chance.

If you like Jimmy Buffet, listen to:

Knee Deep by Zac Brown Band

When the Sun Goes Down by Kenny Chesney

If you like Avril Levigne, listen to:

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift

I Guess We’re Cool by Cassadee Pope

If you like Train, listen to:

Stay by Florida Georgia Line

Run to You by Lady Antebellum

If you like Bruce Springsteen, listen to:

I Walk the Line by Johnny Cash

Travelin’ Soldier by Dixie Chicks

If you like Kelly Clarkson, listen to:

Something More by Sugarland

Blown Away by Carrie Underwood

If you like Matchbox 20, listen to:

Somebody Like You by Keith Urban

If you like drinking beer, heartbreak and abusive relationships, listed to any country music star! It’s all good to me.
