Microplane Grater/Zester

This tool grates or zests everything.  Seriously… try it on Parmesan cheese, chocolate, citrus, garlic, coconut, etc.  Available at Crate and Barrel and Amazon in different colors.

Adult Sippy Cups

Rad Roadie — adult sippy cups by Cuppow.  Can you say, Genius?   Turns wide-mouthed jars into a to-go glass.  Not necessarily a must-have, but definitely a must-want.

Lettuce Chopper

I found this at one of my favorite stores —   A Karate Chopper for lettuce, by Gama Go.  Okay, so it’s not something you need, but it is certainly an item that will make chopping lettuce a heck of a lot more fun.  It may even get your kids to actually want to help out in the kitchen. […]

Garlic Press

I’m not a fan of stinky garlic fingers.  Can’t help it when you to need to mince garlic, unless you have a garlic press!  I swear by them.  Minces the peeled garlic clove finely and leaves the nasty bits behind.  No stink on the fingers.  I have had the same press for years, but Caphalon makes a […]

Kitchen Scale

Kitchen scales are extremely helpful when recipes have ingredients listed in ounces.   Helps me out when I am throwing some of my Happy Hour cocktails together.  Especially if I need to double, triple, quadruple the recipe.  Target has both digital and mechanical scales.  I am partial to the mechanical, because it’s what I’ve always had and it is […]

Dishwasher Magic

At the Ridgewood Stop and Shop, I found Dishwasher Magic… Alleluia!  This stuff is magic.  The soap residue buildup was blocking the drain and filtration system.. No more with this product.  It’s a dishwasher cleaner and disinfectant.  Dishwasher Magic seriously removes limescale and rust… my machine completely sparkles after using it and more importantly, my dishes are once again […]

Parchment Paper

I won’t use my cookie sheets unless lined properly with parchment paper.  Stops anything from sticking to the cookies sheets, therefore, less clean-up.  There are two brands I use which are both found in any local supermarket.  The If You Care brand, because everything about it is environmentally friendly. The Reynolds brand parchment paper is ideal because it fits […]

Apron

Keeping yourself tidy by using an Apron.  Apron selections are endless… but why wear a run-of-the-mill, boring old apron when you can transform into a sassy, sexy, chic house chef?  These flirty aprons are so cute, you may find another room to wear it in on “date night” (wink, wink).

Slow-Cooker

Constantly on the go?  A Slow-Cooker is a Must – Have (especially with this weeks, What’s For Dinner?).  Just a bit of prep and then walk away.  For hours.  And hours.  Something about slow-cookin‘ seals the flavors, keeps everything tender and tasty.  I received mine as a gift and it’s the gift that keeps on giving.  Only wish I […]

A Good Knife

A good knife, not an expensive knife. Like with wine, $$$ does not always translate into “the best”. I received a 7″ Calphalon Santoku knife this past holiday. It is excellent for slicing and dicing everything. I love this bloody knife. Purchase atBed, Bath and Beyond in Paramus. At around $30, it’s a steal.
