GastroAfrique: The African Food Festival

New York African Restaurant Week (“NYARW”), takes place October 1st – 22, 2017 and celebrates the best in African cuisine and culture. Since launching our first New York African Restaurant Week in 2013 with a handful of restaurants and increasing enthusiasm, its grown into a 3-week thrilling celebration, with over 25 participating restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn offering discounted prix-fixe traditional African and avant-garde Afro-fusion menus.

Events and experiences include: chef-hosted pop-ups and food tours; a food business pitch competition, 21 Days of Free Dinner for Two, round trip airfare giveaways.

Restaurants include Bar Omar, Madiba, Tagine, Cafe Rue Dix, Bati Ethiopian Kitchen, Amarachi Lounge, Kingston, Le Souk and more. Simply purchase your food voucher online for a 3 course dinner at participating restaurant. Each ticket guarantees your seat at the table for a three-course meal at the restaurant of your choice.

TASTE OF AFRICA Mega-Food Festival
Sunday, October 8 check out the mega-food festival event at Industry City and participate in cooking classes and wine tastings; art walkthroughs, health and wellness expos, an international soccer tournament; brunch and “linner” event series, plus much more! Tickets range from $15 – $80

This is a mission-based festival. We eat good. We do good. Our 2017 focus is combating the inextricable ties between hunger and homelessness. The festival will benefit Vocal NY and City Harvest.
