Donate Sports Equipment to “Level the Playing Field”

On Saturday, May 21 – rain or shine – Summit students will hold a “New and Used Sporting Equipment Drive” from 8:00AM until 5:00PM at Soldiers Memorial Field, at 5 Myrtle Avenue in Summit. All collected equipment will be donated to the non-profit organization, Leveling the Playing Field, Inc. to benefit disadvantaged youth across the country.

According to Leveling the Playing Field, Inc., “one in five low-income families are unable to get their kids involved in organized sports due to equipment expenses. As a result, underserved children are three times less likely to participate in sports than their peers.”

Who will receive the sporting equipment collected on May 2?  The equipment will be distributed to youth centers, schools, and recreation league teams in underserved communities across the country.

All sporting equipment is generally accepted. Tax receipts will be available upon request.
