Who says kids get to have all the fun? Why not sign up for your own summer camp while your kids are at theirs. There are adult summer camps for everyone. While the standards run year round (think of the wellness spas found in Sedona or California) and if weight loss, traditional fitness and nutrition education is your goal, there are a plethora of these camps all over the country. But, if you’re up for a bit of adventure in the fitness and health realm have a look at these camps:

  • Surf Camp in North Carolina (you can even choose a women’s’ only camp).
  • Horseback Riding Camp in Vermont complete with tennis and yoga on the side.
  • Zombie Survival (Course) Camp in New Jersey. For those wanting a real adventure. A weekend training course to prepare for the big race.
  • CIA Boot Camp in New York, California or Texas. Choose 2 to 5 days at one of these Culinary Institute of America locations. Expert instruction to learn by doing with expert instruction.
  • Camp Bonfire Want to relive your youthful camp days? These camps provide all the amenities (or lack of) that you may fondly remember as a kid but are adult only.
  • Camp Grounded for all the things at a kids camp from crafts to swim to yoga to wall climbing but with music and more.
  • Digital Detox Their motto is “disconnect to reconnect” and that tells it all, located on a national preserve in California.
  • Tennis and Wine Camps Tennis (and Wine) anyone? Yes, there is actually a camp for adults with the focus being wine and tennis (or tennis and wine) in Washington.
  •  Soul Camp think along the lines of chicken soup for the soul in a 4 day camp format. Health and wellness focus from yoga to cardio to meditation. Throw some astrology or numerology in there to round out the day.
  • And much, much more from Underwater Ballet and Tennis Camps in Florida to Yoga and Meditation retreats in Colorado, Arizona and California to Fantasy Ice Skating Camps with Dorothy Hamill in Massachusetts, to Co-ed Soccer, Snowboarding, Hiking and Biking and Basic Survival Camps all over North America.

Whatever your interests are, you’re almost guaranteed to find a camp ideal for you. So while your kids have a blast at their camp this year spend your dog days of summer doing something you’ve always wanted to do.
