Madison Restaurants voted as two best new restaurants

slamwich

Slamwich Scratch Kitchen
143 Main Street, Madison (directly across from Madison Junior High School)

This farm-to-table restaurant uses fresh ingredients from local farms, cures their own meats on premise, prepares their ketchup, mustard, and condiments, serves homemade pickles, and bakes their own breads and rolls.

Slamwich Scratch Kitchen serves breakfast and lunch and offers a kids menu. Tables are available for dining in.  Because the building they are located in is an old school diner, it has a fun, nostalgic feel.
Delivery is now available with an order of $20 or more.

My husband and I have enjoyed lunches at Slamwich a few times and loved it.  It’s always bustling with satisfied customers, and I’ve heard many people talk about how much they love it.  The proprietor is always gracious and enthusiastic.

Go to Slamwich for hours, menus, and directions.

Redux
3 Central Avenue, Madison

Redux offers a three part menu: bites, small plates, and plates. I prefer small plates as it allows you to try several things. My girlfriends and I shared a pre-Christmas dinner at Redux. We sat at the Chef’s counter which allows you to interact with and watch your chefs preparing food.  It makes for a more unique and fun dining experience.  Among the “bites” and “small plates” we shared were assorted pickles, disco fries, smoked salmon, and oysters.
FYI, the restaurant is BYOB, so you can bring along your favorite wine!

Located next door to the restaurant you can find the Market at Redux, which offers specialty and prepared foods such as cheeses, homemade soups, meats, and prepared meals.

Redux also specializes in catering for events of all sizes.

Go to Redux for hours, menus, and directions.

Congratulations to both restaurants for being named as two of the best new restaurants in New Jersey by NJ Monthly February 2016 edition!
