Talks About Teens

  • Don’t miss these engaging discussions that a part of Ridgewood’s Community Outreach Program. Programs are co-sponsored by The Valley Hospital, with support from the Ridgewood Education Foundation and the Home and School Association.All programs will take place at the Benjamin Franklin Middle School auditorium from 7:00-9:00 pm.
    Here are some highlights of what is to come.
  • Ridgewood Community OutreachTuesday, January 19: Dr. Adam Price, Author, Researcher, Speaker, & Psychologist will present He’s Not Just Lazy:  Helping Under Challenged and Unmotivated Boys.”
  • Tuesday, February 23: Simone Marean, Executive Director of Girls Leadership, will present Raising Resilient Girls.”
  • Monday, March 28: Dr. Madeline Levine, Author, Psychologist, and National Speaker, will present The Well-Balanced Student.”
  • Tuesday, April 26: John O’ Sullivan, Author, Coach, and National Speaker, will present “The Race-to-Nowhere in Youth Athletics.”
  • Wednesday, May 18: For Mental Health Month, an expert panel will speak about Local Resources for a Stigma-Free Community.”

Former Art Director for Home Magazine, Heather Leahy Zachariah, left her career in publishing after baby number number one. She now works from home as a freelance graphic designer and a chauffeur to her 3 busy kids. "Working on TipsFromTown has been a wonderful outlet for me. It renewed my love of publishing where I can design colorful, enticing pages online and allows me to share the things I love about being a mom." Heather grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a place that still is near and dear to her. " After living in Brooklyn for 18 years and studying Graphic Design at Pratt Institute, she now lives in the Jersey burbs. "I love living so close to NYC, but in my heart, I'm an Ohio girl."
