Don’t Miss The Supermoon Lunar Eclipse

This Sunday, September 27th, will be your chance to see something that hasn’t happened in more than 30 years. It is a super moon combined with a lunar eclipse. The super moon is what makes the moon appear larger and the full lunar eclipse will give the moon a red tint as the moon passes through the southern half of the earth’s shadow. A super moon is when the full moon coincides with its closest approach to Earth. This September super moon is also known as a ‘Harvest Moon’.  In our area, the moon will have a reddish appearance, sometimes called a Blood Moon, from approximately 8 pm until midnight. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather so we can all witness this spectacular event.
