Stop Yelling at Your Technology and Start Taking Advantage of It
I was at my niece’s dance recital yesterday and heard a song I’ve never heard before. “I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker” longs for a simpler time when communication was by snail mail and computers were still scary. For all the ways technology is making life easier, it is doing just as much to add to the madness. Most notably for me these days, is how thoughtlessly and easily plans, schedules and field times can change. Since we should all have our human leash/smart phone in hand at all times, we are slaves to adjustments on the fly.
Since it is technology making us crazier, we might as well take advantage of its benefits.
First, clear your tech space.
– Delete emails.
– Organize ones you must keep into folders.
– Get rid of all the mess on your smart phone. You do not need Angry Birds on your home screen.
Then, check out some of these apps. (For those of you trying to catch up, an App is an abbreviation for Application Program. An application program is designed to perform a specific function directly for the user or, in some cases, for another application program.)

Simpler may be better, but there is no going back. I do love this song by Sandi Thom, though. The older I get, the better the past looks, probably because my skin was so much tighter, I was only responsible for me and I could take a flight of stairs without being short of breath.
