Bring the Whole Family to the 4-Mile Run/Walk at Garret Mountain

On Sept. 8, runners and walkers can step up to make a difference at “The 4 Miler at Garret Mountain” race event in nearby Woodland Park. Sponsored by the Sax Macy Fromm (SMF) Foundation, this first annual fundraiser will benefit St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department. The event includes lots of activities for both adults and children.

The race day will feature a 4-mile run on a USA Track and Field (USATF) certified race course, 1.5 mile trail walk, and kids’ dashes. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. on race day, followed by the 4-mile run at 9 a.m., trail walk at 9:10 a.m., and kids’ events at 10:15 a.m. Event highlights also include live DJ entertainment and prizes as well as food and beverages.

Pre-registration for participants through Sept. 3 is $22 ($20 for USATF members). After Sept. 3, the fee is $25. To register for the event, which will be held rain or shine, please visit www.raceforum.com/garret.

The SMF Foundation is absorbing all expenses associated with the event in order to donate 100% of the proceeds directly to St. Joseph’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department. To learn more, please visit www.smf-cpa.com.
