Better Get a Move On! Registration for the Annual Franklin Lakes Youth Biathlon Has Begun!

t’s got a splash. It’s got a dash. The Third Annual Franklin Lakes Youth Biathlon has got all that and then some! Geared for youth athletes ranging in age from 7 to 13, this ever-popular family fun event is set for Saturday, September 8, at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes. As always, the biathlon focuses on health and wellness combined with a bit of friendly competition for the athletes.
Race distances vary with age. Here is the breakdown:
Age Group/Race Distance
7 and under/50 yard pool swim and .5 mile run
8- to 9-year-olds/100 yard pool swim and 1 mile run
10- to 11-year-olds/200 yard pool swim and 1.5 mile run
12- to 13-year-olds/400 yard pool swim and 2 mile run

All athletes receive a t-shirt and finisher medal. Trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in all age groups as well as the top three relay teams. Event proceeds benefit both the Franklin Lakes Recreation Department and the Wyckoff Family Y.
All proceeds of the race will help the Franklin Lakes Rec. and the Wyckoff Family YMCA. They will continue promoting the health, wellness and fitness of our community youth. This very special event highlights our shared values of good sportsmanship and healthy living. The Y is proud to reinvest it’s portion of the proceeds back into the Franklin Lakes community.
