Want to celebrate National Chili Day with the best chili in town? Head to The Westfield Diner whose chorizo chili won “Best Chili in Westfield” with just the right balance of spicy and sweet. 10 Westfield restaurants competed in Westfield’s first Chili Cook-Off this past Sunday.

10 restaurants competed in a public contest. Runner up went to Westfield’s Vine Ripe Markets followed Outta Hand Pizza‘s chili-chowder and Chrissy’s Kitchen’s spicy chili. Westfield police, fire and public works departments also competed in a separate competition. In the that contest, Public Works took came in first place with their tasty chowder. Police and Fire tied for their delicious chili,.

The Chowder Contest only drew one entry–let’s hope for more next year. Best Chowder went to Addams Tavern for their baked potato chowder.
