Need a mid afternoon pick me up?
At about 3pm every day, I get hit with the tired stick. Some days it is a small wooden spoon, but other days it is a baseball bat, and the smack down leaves me wondering if I have an autoimmune disease. Why else would I be so tired in the middle of the day? Usually, I can snap myself out of it by drinking some water and powering through. Other days, I want to crawl back into bed. Enter ZipFizz.
Larry (husband) turned me onto these powdered supplements when I was found to be mildly B12 deficient. They come in small single use tubes and you mix them with 16 – 20 ounces of water. They contain no sugar, no gluten and loads of B12. I add water to mine as I drink it to cut the sweetness and to get the added benefit of extra hydration.
As far as a pick me up goes, they are really effective. I’ve done some research, and while I’m sure someone will find something dangerous about them, they seem fairly harmless to me — other than artificial sweetener. I let my 17 year old have one occasionally when she needs to get work done late at night.
We buy them online. I haven’t yet seen them in stores. I started this post when I was exhausted, and truthfully, feel a lot better now – less than 10 minutes later and halfway done. If there is something I am missing about the safety profile, please send me an email and let me know. In the meantime, I’m treating really tired with zipfizz. You can check them out here. You can buy them on Amazon for about $30 for 20. Pink Lemonade and Iced Tea are my fave flaves.
