Who Wants To Meet Our Local Police Force? – I do!
This Tuesday, August 2nd is National Night Out! The evening and the activities are part of a larger campaign to strengthen ties with law enforcement and the communities they serve.
We are so lucky to have such an involved and friendly police and fire department her in Westfield. Members of the Westfield Police Department will be on hand from 7-9 pm in the north side parking lot of the train station.
Enjoy:
• Free hot dogs and sodas.
• Climb on vehicles from the fire department, rescue squad and other emergency equipment.
• Get your fingerprints taken, color at the coloring station and take home giveaways.
• Sign up for the Police Explorer Program for kids ages 14 to 20
Everyone will have the chance to to meet and chat with first responders and members of the DPW, see parking division demonstrations, register their bicycles and register their alarms.
That night is also a jazz night downtown, and live music by The Gold Magnolias will begin in that area at 7 p.m. Another great reason to head into town for fun night!
Please note – to accommodate the activities, the north side train station parking lot will close and become inaccessible to vehicles beginning at about 1 p.m Tuesday afternoon, An exit will be available to vehicles already parked in the lot, he said. Commuters being picked up should go to the south side of the station.
