What to Eat for Exercise

Do you ever wonder what you should eat and drink before or after exercising? I learned the hard way. While I was training for a road race, someone had told me to eat a banana before the actual race. I proceeded to burp bananas the entire run. It made that race feel like a marathon. After doing a little more research I now have more of an idea of what I can and should eat pre and post workout. Everyday Health.com has a good article written by Barbara Robb, MA, Eating Right for Exercise.   So a little toast with peanut butter for me an hour before I exercise or a protein with a carbohydrate within 2 hours after I exercise (yogurt and granola or a cheese stick with crackers), that works for me.  The bottom line, you need fuel to exercise and for the recuperation process. Water is a must! Now it’s implementing it.
