NYT’s “The Busy Trap”

I find myself uttering the words time and time again – “I’m so busy” or even better, “We’re so busy.” This primarily hits me during a school year packed with activities when I am shuttling everyone here and there – and then back again. I’m sure that’s why NYT’s “The Busy Trap” by Tim Krieder struck a chord when my sister turned me on to it.

Krieder writes, “if you live in America in the 21st century you’ve probably had to listen to a lot of people tell you how busy they are. It’s become the default response when you ask anyone how they’re doing.” He goes on to say, “it’s not as if any of us wants to live like this; it’s something we collectively force one another to do.” Interesting take from Krieder, huh? Check out the article and let us know what you think. The good news for me? I sat down and read the entire piece from start to finish! It is summer after all.
