The New World

This epic film is a dramatized (and romanticized) telling of the relationship between English explorer John Smith and the Native American princess Pocahontas. Even though most of the English settlers are distrustful of the Native Americans, John Smith is able to form a deep friendship with Pocahontas.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

1987| Rated R directed by John Hughes

This comedy movie stars Steve Martin and John Candy, so rest assured that all you will get from this movie is laughter. It’s about how Martin tries to go home for Thanksgiving, meets Candy along with one disaster after another. There are of course some touching scenes when Martin realizes the truth behind Candy’s life and how he becomes a part of Martin’s life.

The Best Years of Our Lives

After returning home in glory, a group of World War II veterans experience a range of emotions as they try to assimilate back into “normal” life in a society that has stopped being thankful for the sacrifices they made.
