Summer DVR Alert – Home Decor Shows

HGTV’s top-rated reality competition premiered in June. HGTV Design Star, returns for a dynamic seventh season, it airs Saturdays at 8pm, and ends on July 17. The one-hour series features 12 competitive and creative finalists executing ingenious designs, as well as an illustrious judging panel of acclaimed HGTV interior designers (Genevieve Gorder and Vern Yip) and special celebrity guests. The finalists, who include professional interior designers, contractors, stylists and artists, must navigate innovative design challenges and dazzle the judges with creativity and ingenuity until one wins their own show on HGTV.

Craft Wars premiered on TLC June 26 @ 10/9c. One of America’s favorite pastimes – crafting – is the focus of the new TLC competition series CRAFT WARS. Each episode pits three new, everyday enthusiasts against each other in two rounds of difficult challenges, encompassing different genres of crafting expertise. Actress, author and designer Tori Spelling will host and executive produce the series, serving as both a guide for the audience, and a mentor to the contestants. Spelling hosts the show, which airs at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Million Dollar Decorators – Millions of dollars and out-sized egos are constantly on the line as Bravo gives viewers an unprecedented look into the exclusive and affluent world of high-end interior designers in Million Dollar Decorators. The network’s docu-series follows five of the most sought-after interior decorators as they navigate the high-pressured design industry for their wealthy, famous, and extremely demanding clients. This was my favorite series last summer, look for the 2nd season this summer.
