Spooky Walk

Getting the perfect costume can be very time consuming.  It is such a shame to only wear it for that one party or trick or treating so why not spend an evening in your costume on a spooky walk?  When my kids were younger (and still let me join them!) one of my favorite things to do in October was take them to the Clark Botanical Gardens for their Spooky Walk for just $5.00 a person.

The first year, we went I was completely intimidated by the line of people waiting to get in.  I was actually ready to turn around and go home, but then I figured if this many people were willing to wait it must be worth it!  The icy cold air didn’t bother any of us while we were waiting on line.  We were totally entertained by the awesome spook themed band and enjoyed hot chocolate and warm pretzels for a small fee.

Clark Botanical Gardens has a great system going because we were at the front of the line in not time.  The trail was lined with amazing spooky scenery.  If you enjoy being a little frightened you’ll love this path, if you’re kids are a little too young to appreciate it then Clark Botanical Gardens has a not so spooky walk before it gets dark.

I always liked to stretch the night out a little longer, so right after the Spooky Walk we would all take a little drive to Krisch’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor for some of their homemade ice cream.
