Six Simple Steps for Better Health

I just wrote about “S” words to keep you happy, and when I started brainstorming them, many came to mind for better health. Health is wrapped up tightly with happiness, so here goes the wellness version.

1. Stand.
Get up. Move. Our sitting epidemic is killing us.

2. Sleep.
Shut eye that is consistent in quality and quantity is one of the best boosts for your mental and physical health.

3. Sex.
Physical intimacy is closely linked with better health and longevity.

4. Stretch.
Yes, aerobic exercise is important, but make time for stretching.
Your joints will thank you in ten years.

5. Sip.
Don’t chug. Don’t binge. Don’t deprive.
Food and drink in moderation.

6. S*#t.
In the bathroom, it is important,
but here I’m referring to letting it go in general.
Holding on to grudges and worries will literally make you sick.
Flush them down the emotional toilet.
