SHHS Girls Cross Country Heads to States!

shaker heightsTomorrow is a big day for Girls Cross Country. For the second time in school history—and for the second year in a row—the Shaker Heights High School girls cross country team will be heading to Central Ohio for the State Championship Meet Saturday November 5 at 3:00 p.m. at the National Trail Raceway in Hebron. The team finished fourth out of 25 teams in the state’s regional October 29 . Mimi Reimers and Sophie Carrier led the way, finishing 9th and 11th in a field featuring all of Northeast Ohio’s best. Senior Elise LaFramboise and sophomore Sydney Blaszak, finished ahead of many of the four and five runners who were ranked ahead of them, and allowed Shaker to avenge losses to rival Brunswick the last two weeks. Keep your eyes on Solon’s Olivia Howell who placed fifth last year in Division I at the OHSAA girls state cross country championships.

She now works from home as a freelance graphic designer and a chauffeur to her 3 busy kids. "Working on TipsFromTown has been a wonderful outlet for me. It renewed my love of publishing where I can design colorful, enticing pages online and allows me to share the things I love about being a mom." Heather grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a place that still is near and dear to her. " After living in Brooklyn for 18 years and studying Graphic Design at Pratt Institute, she now lives in the Jersey burbs. "I love living so close to NYC, but in my heart, I'm an Ohio girl."
