SHHS Girls Cross Country Heads to States!
Tomorrow is a big day for Girls Cross Country. For the second time in school history—and for the second year in a row—the Shaker Heights High School girls cross country team will be heading to Central Ohio for the State Championship Meet Saturday November 5 at 3:00 p.m. at the National Trail Raceway in Hebron. The team finished fourth out of 25 teams in the state’s regional October 29 . Mimi Reimers and Sophie Carrier led the way, finishing 9th and 11th in a field featuring all of Northeast Ohio’s best. Senior Elise LaFramboise and sophomore Sydney Blaszak, finished ahead of many of the four and five runners who were ranked ahead of them, and allowed Shaker to avenge losses to rival Brunswick the last two weeks. Keep your eyes on Solon’s Olivia Howell who placed fifth last year in Division I at the OHSAA girls state cross country championships.
