REMEMBER WHAT – HOW TO SHARPEN YOUR MEMORY
Have you ever found yourself walking into the next room to get something and when you get there you can’t remember what you needed. It happens to the best of us. I found this tip in Health Magazine January/February 2012 to help us all out. To sharpen up your memory use the Look, Snap and Connect technique (from Dr. Gary Small, Director of the UCLA Longevity Center)
LOOK: Focus on what you want to remember. The main reason people forget is that they are not paying attention.
SNAP: Create a mental snapshot. Most of us recall things better if there is a visual.
CONNECT: Link up the snapshots. The example used is if you have two errands to do, like going to the market for eggs and post office to mail a letter, visualize an egg with a stamp on.
