With a tap on your phone, a new designated driver service dedicated to reducing drunk driving can get you and your car home safely. Genius right? Known as StearClear, it uses GPS technology delivered through a smart phone app to connect customers and professional drive teams together. The company just started providing service to the Ridgewood area. StearClear teams consist of pairs of drivers – one who drives the customer’s car and another who follows it in his or her own car. With a free basic membership, rates are $20 per pickup plus $2.50 per mile. Premium membership at $5 a month offers discounted rates on pickups and mileage.  Check out their website for more info.
