My Favorite Holiday Game: Mr. & Mrs. Right
Every year on Christmas Eve, before we read about the story of Christmas, we play a silly game called “Mr. and Mrs. Right.” Before playing, I make a trip to The Dollar Store and buy a gift for every guest that comes. Buy things from books, ornaments, small toys to silly things like giant ladies’ underwear, fake nails or anti-itch cream.
Here’s how you play:
• Everyone sits in a circle.
• One person reads the story of “Mr. and Mrs. Wright” aloud to the group.
• Every time the reader says the word “right,” you pass your gift to the right.

• Every time the reader says the word “right,” you pass your gift to the right.
• Every time they say “left,” you pass your gift to the left.
It gets pretty silly; people inevitably hand a gift in the wrong direction causing confusion and giggles. When the story is over, you keep the gift you are holding. It never fails that one of my uncles ends up with a a romantic novel or ladies’ big underwear!
