Kids Tea Parties, Book Clubs, Cooking and More

The Ridgewood YWCA (not to be confused with the YMCA in the same building) offers kids classes for youngsters ages 2-7. Affordable and convenient, your little ones will love the enrichment experience. They have even added a Saturday morning option for many classes. Still time to register for the. Fall Session Sept. 4th – Oct. 27th.

Beginner Book Club – ages 3 to 4 yrs. Children enjoy an age appropriate storybook, followed by a related project to enhance comprehension. Mon. 11:45 – 12:30 pm. Sat. 10:30 – 11:15 am

Science – ages 3 to 4 yrs. Young children are naturally curious. Feed their interest through Science discovery. Learn about dinosaurs, gravity, magnetic power, etc. Wed. 11:45 – 12:30 pm. Sat. 11:30 – 12:15 pm

Intro to spanish – ages 3 to 4 yrs. Children have fun learning languages at an early age. Class includes language, culture, traditions and food. Tues. 11:45 – 12:30 pm

Young Explorers – ages 3 to 5 yrs. Let’s explore! Discover dinosaurs, wild animals, flying machines, the night sky, campfire tales and much more while enjoying snacks and tasty treats. Thurs. 1:00 – 2:30 pm; 3:45 – 5:15 pm

World Cultures – ages 3 to 5 yrs. Travel around the world through art, food, music and games. Thurs. 11:45 – 12:30 pm

Messy Munchkins – ages 2 to 3½ yrs (with parent)Enjoy time with your child with supervised free play and a different arts & craft project each week. Wed. 9:15 – 10:00 am

Games, Games, Games – ages 2½ to 4 yrs. Physical activity is essential for good health. Children will play a variety of games and participate in activities designed to build strong kids and encourage socialization. Wed. 10:15 – 11:00 am

Hammer & Nails – ages 2½ to 4 yrs. Let’s build something together! Children learn to hammer, sand & paint their own projects. Mon. 1:45 – 2:30 pm

Art – ages 3 to 5 years. Children learn about art through painting, sculpting and other exciting techniques. Mon. 1:00 – 1:45 pm. Sat. 9:30 – 10:15 am

Cooking – ages 3 to 5 yrs. Children will create kid-friendly recipes while learning to measure, mix, roll and knead dough, whip cream, etc. Recipes will be compiled into a small cookbook. Snack and supplies included. Ages 3 to 4 yrs. Fri. 11:30 – 1:00 pm. Ages 3 to 5 yrs. Fri . 1:00 – 2:30 pm

Tea Party – ages 4 to 6 yrs. Put on your princess dress, it’s time for tea! Children polish their manners, make tea sandwiches, bake cakes, scones, cookies and make chocolates. Glamorous hats, jewelry boxes and picture frames are made, pearls are strung and tea is had with dolls and stuffed animals. Wed. 1:00 – 2:30 pm.

Queen for a Day – ages 5 to 7 yrs. Wear your most regal attire and enjoy special afternoons with Royalty. Create jewelry, bake cakes, cookies and other goodies and enjoy a grand story. Snack and supplies included. Wed. 3:45 – 5:15 pm

Beginner Soccer – ages 3 to 4 yrs.+ This introduction to basic soccer skills includes kicking and passing the ball. (Note: Games may be changed based on children’s interest during class) Tues. 1:00 – 1:45 pm

Intermediate to Advanced Soccer – ages 4 to 6 yrs. Introduction to soccer with kicking and passing activities. Tues. 1:45 – 2:30 pm
