Keep Your Birthday A Secret With These Simple Tips That Turn Back The Clock
I’m not sure what it says about me, but I am so not beyond lying about my age! I’ll take anything I can get… but here are some tips that will make you look like you are drinking from the fountain of youth…
1. SPF– I know I sound like a broken record, but I can’t stress enough the wonders of sunscreen. It will not only protect your skin from harmful UV rays, it will also prevent the appearance of dark spots and sun damage. (Yes, you need to use it even in the grey days of winter)
2.Exfoliate– Forget the scrub and opt for a beta or glycolic product that will turn over your skin cell faster, bringing new skin to the surface, leaving your skin looking younger and more radiant.
3. Prime– To soften lines and create a smooth canvas before foundation, apply a primer for lasting power as well as preventing foundation from creeping into those pesky crevices
4. Hair– Only condition the ends. This will keep roots from falling flat. Hair that lifts from the roots will lift all of your facial features, making your look younger, preventing hair that sits limp at the crown that can drag down all of your facial features.
5. Moisturize your hands– Apply lotion every time you wash your hands. This will boost hydration by sealing in the water that the skin has absorbed. Even better, use a SPF 15 hand cream that’s formulated with humectants, like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or urea, which draw moisture to the skin. The sun protection will prevent sun spots and thinning of this already thin skin.
6. Whiten your teeth– Dr. Andrew Phillips of Phillips Dentistry says: “teeth whitening is a non-invasive, easy way to look and feel younger. There are multiple ways to achieve a brighter smile, either in office which allows for a single hour and a half visit, or a take home treatment that can take up to a week. Both are equally as effective.”
If you can’t spend the money getting it done professionally, do it naturally. To brighten a smile that as yellowed with age, combine a teaspoon of baking soda with one or two drops of hydrogen peroxide. Brush it on, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse (don’t swallow).
7. Hide lip lines– Get younger looking lips and make lip lines less noticeable by applying lip balm day and night.
8. Perfect your pout– plump your lips the tasty way- Eat honey! Whether scooped into your tea or smeared onto your toast, honey will help your pucker stay smooth and soft. The natural sugars in honey attract and maintain moisture, so lipstick glides on smoothy and is less likely to bleed into fine lines.
