Getting 2016 Oscar Ready – Fitness Faves of the Stars
It’s that time of year where many of us will be glued to our tvs for hours not necessarily to see which actors, directors or movies win Oscars but more to see who’s wearing who, and let’s be honest here, checking out the bods of all those stars. So this article is going to highlight favorite fitness regimes of various stars. Some are new fads; some have been around for a long time (the fitness trends that is). Aside form hiring your own personal trainer(s) – yes some celebs have more than one, you can try out these fitness trends at your local gyms.
- While TRX has been one of MY personal faves since 2006, it’s just recently come into the spotlight. In fact, in January alone the TRX team was demonstrating with stars from Kathie Lee and Hoda to Kelly Ripa. Also loving this body weight suspension training is Gisele Bundchen, Gwen Stefani and a plethora of athletes from NFL players to Olympians.
- Dance – let’s face it, it works and there are so many forms from which to choose – traditional ballet (Katie Holmes) to the trendy Barre Method (Drew Barrymore) or Physique 57 which incorporate ballet movements at the barre, light weights and many, many reps but there is no choreography, to the Tracy Anderson Method (Gweneth Paltrow, Madonna) to the upbeat, funky Zumba ( J-Lo).
- Piloxing is a combo of Pilates tummy toning exercises combined with the intensity and cardio of boxing moves (Hillary Duff).
- Hooping – yup – dig out your kid’s hoop or better yet get one your size and channel your former child or take a hooping class (Marisa Tomei, Zooey Deschanel).
- SoulCycle A mix of spin and upper body resistance exercises. (Lady Gaga, Nicole Kidman)
- Barry’s Bootcamp Intense interval training between the treadmill and resistance exercises. (Sandra Bullock, Amanda Seyfried)
- S3 Combines dumbbells, pilates and yoga (Tina Fey)
- CrossFit Intense power lifting, cardio and plyometrics (Cameron Diaz, Madonna)
