Challenge Yourself to an Escape Room!

I’m sure by now you have all heard about these “escape rooms” that originally started in big cities, but all of a sudden have taken the suburbs by storm. At first I was nervous, worrying that there would be no windows, no ventilation and that I would have claustrophobia and eventually suffocate. But, then I got over it. My boyfriend and I went last night and even though there are normally up to ten people in a room, it was only the two of us. We signed up to escape the “Asylum” and without giving anything away, I will tell you it was the most fun we have had in a long time. There are so many escape rooms with many different themes – they have art galleries, prisons, game rooms, carnivals, etc. The art of the escape is challenging yourself mentally to figure out clues to unlock more clues which eventually lead to your escaping the room. It is funny how we really pushed ourselves after hearing that a 12 year old and her mother escaped the room  in 45 minutes! I highly recommend trying this with your family and/or friends. It makes for a solid hour of fun – and in case you were wondering, if you really have to, you can leave the room to go to the bathroom. We made it out with six minutes to spare and look forward to our next escape room with friends this weekend!
