Brows that Wow!
Women often ask me– if you only had a minute to spend putting makeup on in the morning, what would you do? My answer is the same every time– fill in my brows, put on my favorite volumizing mascara (Chanel’s Inimitable Intense) and lip gloss. Not many people realize how important eyebrows are in defining your face. The trend right now is a fuller brow– I’m not talking Groucho Marx, but the quicker you can get yours growing in the better. The Secret Formula- Throughout her years of experience, Anastasia has learned that the ideal eye brow shape can be calculated by what is called the Golden Ratio– this is high tech brow talk! It is done by establishing three precision points on the face: one that lies on an imaginary line running vertically through the middle of the nostril; then the high point on the eyebrow arch, which can be found on a line connecting the tip of the nose to the center of the iris; and finally the point that lies on a line running through the edge of the corresponding nostril through the outer edge of the eye. “The high point divides the eyebrow arch in precisely the Golden Ratio,” she explains.
When filling in your brows, you can use an eyebrow pencil or powder that matches the darkest part of your hair (usually the color of your roots). Start at the root of the brow closest to you nose and use small feathering upward strokes toward the arch, then down towards the outer edge of the eye. Don’t worry if you feel you applied it too dark- use a brow brush to soften– brush out the brows upward. Set the brows with a clear or colored brow gel. Finish the look with a volumizing mascara to create fuller lashes that will create the perfect triangle of the eyes. Anastasia says, “This creates a more proportionate look to the face overall, thus enhancing one’s beauty entirely.”
