Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program for Kids!

Thank Heavens Barnes & Noble is right up the block on Old Country Road here in Garden City – and for most of us not too far away!

The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program is here  encouraging children to read books of their own choosing and earn a FREE book, simply by following these three easy steps:

  1. Read any eight books this summer and record them in your Summer Reading Journal (English or Español). Tell us which part of the book is your favorite, and why.
  2. Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 16th and September 5th, 2017. Find a Store
  3. Choose your FREE reading adventure from the book list featured on the back of the journal.

The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program marks its twenty-first year celebrating the power of books to expand children’s horizons. Once again, they are partnering with educators to inspire readers in first through sixth grades to have a summer filled with reading adventures— and earn a FREE book! Our program encourages students to let books transport them to the most exciting destination of all: the imagination. The Summer Reading Program is designed to reinforce learning, nurture skills and motivate students to extend their reading through the summer vacation. Students can pick the books they want to read and proceed at their own pace. This package includes a reading journal for students to track their reading progress throughout the summer.  Students enter the names of their books in their reading journal as they read them. When they’ve read eight books, they can return the completed journal to any Barnes & Noble bookstore to get a free book.. Parent/guardian signatures are required. You’ll find a downloadable version of the Summer Reading Journal online at BN.COM/summerreading
