Babysitter Training by American Red Cross

Summer is almost here and that means opportunities abound for babysitting! The American Red Cross in Ridgewood is ready to prepare tweens and teens for the job. Recently revised, the Red Cross Babysitter Training Program is filled with hands-on activities, role-plays, and lively discussions, covering all the basics and then some.

Attendees will learn how to:
– Perform basic child-care skills such as diapering and feeding
– Choose safe, age-appropriate games and toys
– Handle bedtime and discipline issues
– Identify safety hazards and prevent injuries
– Care for common injuries and emergencies such as choking, burns, cuts and bee stings
– Communicate effectively with parents
– Find and interview for babysitting jobs

Upcoming programs in Ridgewood are on Saturday, June 30 and Saturday, August 4, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To register, click here.  The class  is 7 hours in length and costs $75.
