Annual Morris County “Holly Walk”

What a perfect opportunity to see some of the most interesting historical buildings throughout Morris County. The Holly Walk has been an annual tradition, and this year three of the five historic sites will be open to visitors on both Saturday and Sunday.
The following historical buildings will participate in the 2016 Holly Walk :
The Ford Mansion at Morristown National Historical Park – built in the 1770’s for the family of Jacob Ford, from 1779-1780 this home became George Washington’s headquarters for six months. The furnishings reflect how it may have looked during Washington’s stay.
The Morris County Historical Society at Acorn Hall – built as a private residence in 1853, this home became a house museum that is decorated in original furnishings, while hosting changing exhibits.
Macculloch Hall Historical Museum and Gardens – 1810 historic house originally built by the Macculloch Family, here you will find period rooms and exhibit galleries. It also contains the largest collection of original artwork by Thomas Nast.
Schuyler-Hamilton House (SATURDAY ONLY) – built in 1760, this historic home once served as the home for Dr. John Cochran, who was assigned to General Washington.
Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms (SATURDAY ONLY) – 30-acre National Historic Landmark is the former country estate of Gustav Stickley. The Log House was built in 1911 and restored to it’s original 1911 appearance. Numerous Stickley furnishings can be found on display at the Museum.
All locations will be adorned in holiday décor and offer special Holly Walk programming throughout the weekend. The gift shops will be open for shopping and fully stocked with unique and interesting gift items.
Cost per person for advanced purchase is $30 per person. They may be purchased at the Morris County Tourism Bureau or on line at morristourism.org.
Advance tickets purchased on line prior to November 30 will be sent via mail. Advance tickets purchased from Nov 30-Dec 2 on line will be picked up at Maculloch Hall.
Tickets may also be purchased on day of event for $35 per person. If purchasing the day of, tickets are available only at Macculloch Hall Museum with payment only by cash or check. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free.
