Kids Snorkeling Lesson

Whether you’re traveling with teens, tweens or tots, snorkeling is a fun thing to do on vacation with kids. Yet a leaky mask or broken snorkel can ruin the fun. In preparation for your next vacation, try taking you and your kids to get proper fitting gear (mask, snorkel and fins). For some children, learning to breath thorough a snorkel and swimming with fins may be overwhelming. In this case, it can be worth it to give them a lesson from a certified scuba expert. Blue Water Divers on Route 17 South offers Snorkeling Classes in the same on-site pool they use for SCUBA training. I recently brought my 7 and 9 year old here in preparation for our next vacation, and they taught them the proper techniques for snorkeling: snorkel clearing, mask defogging, gear preparation, swimming with fins and free diving. The lesson was $25 with the purchase of a Mask, Snorkel and Fins. Classes are available by appointment. They also provide swim lessons, water safety classes for scouts, scuba certification and birthday parties. Blue Water Divers 201 Route 17 SouthRochelle Park, NJ 201-327-2822.
