It’s Time to Stop the Hate

STOP THE HATE: HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH SING OUT
Wednesday, December 13, 2017   •   9:00am to 1:00pm

Stop the hate…with music, how else? In partnership with the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage and Roots of American Music (ROAM), the Rock Hall is hosting performances by high school students from across northeast Ohio who have been working with teaching artists to compose original songs that address issues like bullying, refugee crises, racism, and drug abuse. The winning high school class will receive $5,000 for their school.

Stop the Hate® Youth Speak Out celebrates students committed to creating a more accepting, inclusive society and is designed to create an appreciation and understanding among people of differing religions, races, cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Free and open to the public on the Rock Hall’s Klipsch Main Stage on the lobby level.

Former Art Director for Home Magazine, Heather Leahy Zachariah, left her career in publishing after baby number number one. She now works from home as a freelance graphic designer and a chauffeur to her 3 busy kids. "Working on TipsFromTown has been a wonderful outlet for me. It renewed my love of publishing where I can design colorful, enticing pages online and allows me to share the things I love about being a mom." Heather grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a place that still is near and dear to her. " After living in Brooklyn for 18 years and studying Graphic Design at Pratt Institute, she now lives in the Jersey burbs. "I love living so close to NYC, but in my heart, I'm an Ohio girl."
