Congrats to Coach Bartley
Last week, former Hockey Coach J. Michael Bartley, was inducted into the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame. Coach Bartley was Head Coach of the Shaker Heights High School varsity hockey team for 37 years from 1976-2013
Coach Bartley was one of the most successful coaches in Ohio hockey history is hanging up his skates. He had
640 wins in his 37-year career. And all with Shaker Heights. No other Ohio hockey coach has won more games!He holds the title of Ohio’s Winningest High School Head Hockey Coach and received awards from the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League, Lake Erie High School Hockey League and the Plain Dealer High School Coach of the Year Awards. He also received the 2001 OHSAA Sportsmanship, Ethics & Integrity Coaches Award and the 2013 National Federation of State High School Associations Hockey Coach of the Year Award (Ohio).
