Helping Soldiers in their greatest time of need.
A soldier’s greatest time of need can be when they return home. Every day 22+ Veterans and 1 Active Duty Soldier take their own lives. Burdened with the stigma associated with mental health issues and the military “shame” surrounding PTS (Post Traumatic Stress), they instead turn to suicide as their only option to relieve suffering.
- 28,000: Number of lives lost since 2008. 1.5 active duty Soldiers and 22+ Veterans take their own lives every day.
- 50% of Veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan reported “some” to “extreme” difficulty in social functioning, productivity, and community involvement.
- 50% higher rate of suicide in Soldiers and Veterans than the civilian rate.
- The primary cause of death in the U.S. Army isn’t vehicular accidents or combat, it is suicide.
We face a tidal wave of military suicides as more and more servicemen and women come home. Can you help us by volunteering? Are you with an organization that could partner with us?
