The Perfect Summer Wedge.

For those of you who know me, I am rarely in flats and am constantly looking  for the perfect nude summer wedge.  Trust me when I tell you I have searched everywhere, from Christian Louboutin, to Gucci, to Saint Laurent.  Well, I think I might have found it, in the most unusual place, and to go one step further… it was on SALE!!!  I stopped at the mall on my way into the city for the weekend, the saturday before Memorial Day (I know, what was I thinking?!?)  Needless to say it was a mad house and I wasn’t making the best time trying to speed walk in my Gucci Stilettos.  As I passed C Wonder, my eye was caught by the bright colored items merchandised on their clean white laquered shelves. As I walked into the store I ran into and old colleague from Anthropologie. We got to talking and before I knew it I was in the middle of the shoe department trying on almost every pair.  I quickly became obsessed with their Strappy Woven Cork Wedge Sandal and just had to have them.  A favorite silhouette for summer, a tall wedge sandal transitions from a breezy favorite, to a chic must-have in season-perfect cork topped with intricate woven straps. While I love the boost of the 5” heel,  comfort key for most, but the 1 ¼” platform and plush memory foam technology padding the insole, create the cushiony feel of a much lower heel. Just zip up the back (the golden gleam of the hardware gives it a touch of edge) and sail straight into brunch or dance the night away.  As Helene was ringing me up, she told me they were on sale.  Any normal person would have been psyched, but I was afraid my love affair with my new shoes might have ended before we even made it out the door (don’t ask, it’s some weird thing I have with items on sale)… But what can I say, it was love at first sight and I’ve been head-over-heels ever since.
